Why does popcorn pop? Interesting little question don't you think? It used to be an answer I'd give people when they asked me some kind of bizarre question. It was my way of being kind of a smart aleck.
But the fact of the matter is there is a reason why popcorn pops, and here's why; it turns out that inside that hard dried kernel is a little bit of moisture. When it's heated up the moisture expands and pops that hard outer shell.
See I believe that the key to understanding is understanding why, and that's why I try to bring that to my podcast. A basic understanding of why. I don't usually talk about popcorn. I like popcorn usually with a little salt and butter but I thought it was an interesting question to kind of explain where it is I come from.
