On this episode of the Christopher Scott Talk Show Podcast:
The Army concluded testing of a new shelf stable MRE pizza. If you don't know what MRE's are it stands for Meals, Ready to Eat. There pre-packaged, shelf stable meals in a bag. An opaque brown or tan bag that conceals the meals inside. The only way to know what they are is to read the label.
The pizza tests were considered a success! The food has been determined suitable for human consumption. A reporter for Stars and Stripes tried one. He said, "You have to be cold, starving and exhausted to really appreciate them" Sounds consistent with the average taste of MRE’s. MRE's aren't exactly regarded as gourmet meals.
I’ve eaten my fair share of MRE’s. That was over 25 years ago but it sounds like they’ve remained consistently disgusting. In case you're getting all excited about trying some it’s illegal. MRE’s are government property and not to be sold to civilians. So if you go buy some not only will you suffer the intestinal consequences you’ll be breaking the law.
The big question is where did these things come from and why are they used?
So hit the play button!
