This is the transcript of the introduction for this episode of the Christopher Scott Talk Show Podcast:
One thing I've noticed over the course of my life, usually something has to break before it gets fixed. Nobody is interested in changing anything until there's a major problem. Until they start to feel some pain most people aren't really motivated to do much. It's a shame, because it holds us back. It keeps us from looking at better ways of doing things.
I don't consider myself a political progressive but maybe I am a little bit. I definitely believe in progress in my personal life, but it's not the same thing. But, I think both are valuable and most of the time we just stay stuck accepting things as they are instead of looking for a better way.
Sometimes it's good. There's plenty of stories of countries, teams and people who personally grew out of struggle. Situations that were dire and turned into miraculous transformations. But, for every one of those stories of success there's a lot more where it didn't end well.
Maybe I've struggled onto one of the great mysteries of the universe. Or, maybe I just think too much. To understand what I'm talking about you need to understand what an impasse is.
