There's 3 big things that are going on in the news right now. 2 are really, genuinely big things. The third is purely gossipy type nonsense but my concern is that it's taking away from the other 2. Which the other 2, have potential ramifications short term and long term ramifications that really could make or break the survival of this country. I know that sounds dramatic but I don't know how you can look at any other way.
The first thing is the issue with North Korea and it's grown beyond saber rattling as some have called it. It's gone beyond threats and just words. There is planning going on and the plan is in the early stages of implementation. You won't hear much about it in the news you won't hear about it because it's kind of hard to understand but, also because so much attention is being given to such meaningless, soap opra nonsense and there's only so much time. So while the country is focused on Trump's Tweets and something that somebody supposedly said on a private phone call we're on the brink of a nuclear war. I'm talking about the phone call the president made to the family of the fallen soldier in Florida.
But the other big thing, really big thing going on, that nobody really even seems to give any care too is the new budget deal. I know talking about budgets, and congressional budget office and all that is about as exciting as watching paint dry. That's fine, I get that. The issue is that the country is squarely and firmly bankrupt and, the deal on the table is more, accelerated spending because somehow that's supposed to work us out of a budget problem. I'm not talking about tax cuts - I'm talking about spending cuts and we're not getting that. We're getting spending that's 5, 6 times inflation with no clear understanding where that money is going and why we need to increase spending. And, this is all being buried in the noise of what's turned into a nationwide Jerry Springer show.
So hit the play button!
