Big Win For Gun Rights: Open Carry Wins
On this episode of the Christopher Scott Talk Show Podcast:
The gun control movement is nothing more than a political power grab. Most people are clueless what the 2nd amendment means and why it's so important. The war on guns has accomplished nothing but turning law abiding citizens into criminals and making it nearly impossible for good, law abiding people to protect themselves.
Finally, there's been a win for the 2nd amendment. After decades of gradually eroding gun right the pendulum has finally swing back toward freedom and liberty.
This case comes from a resident of Hawaii who fought for his right to carry. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which is generally very liberal, endorsed the right of individuals to carry firearms in public in a ruling, striking down a lower court argument that the Constitution only protects that right at home.
The ruling stated in part, “Analyzing the text of the Second Amendment and reviewing the relevant history, including founding-era treatises and nineteenth century case law, the panel stated that it was unpersuaded by the county’s and the state’s argument that the Second Amendment only has force within the home”
Judge Diarmuid O’Scannlain wrote in his opinion that “for better or for worse, the Second Amendment does protect a right to carry a firearm in public for self-defense.”
