Common Sense Definition

Maybe you're wondering what common is, how to get common sense, or how you can read Common Sense by Thomas Paine or why the book Common Sense was so important in the first place. What is common sense? It's an interesting question. It's not an easy question to answer and because of the philosophical nature of it it's not something that's answered in a few words or few sentences. It's something worthy of study and discussion. It's something that impacts every area of our lives. Work, politics, religion, raising children, dealing with people, surviving and thriving. All of these things are prone to reasoning. Sound judgement. It's the way to live a satisfying life. Some people have related comm

How Long Before The U.S. Goes Bankrupt?

What would happen if the United States went bankrupt? Has anybody ever thought about that? What would be the consequences of the United States going bankrupt? Are we headed in that direction? U.S. Debt Poised To Hit The $22 Trillion Mark As “Storm Clouds” Indicate “We Could Have Another Financial Crisis” "The rapidly exploding U.S. national debt is about to cross another critical threshold. According to the U.S. Treasury, the debt of the federal government is currently sitting at $21,854,296,172,540.94, and at our current pace we will likely hit the $22 trillion mark next month. This is a horrifying national crisis, and yet nothing is being done about it. When Barack Obama entered the Whi

Something Is Causing The Earth To Shake And Nobody Knows What's Causing It

On this episode of the Christopher Scott Talk Show Podcast: You're probably not aware of this but on November 11th a mysterious rumble rolled around the world. The seismic waves began roughly 15 miles off the shores of Mayotte, a French island sandwiched between Africa and the northern tip of Madagascar. The waves buzzed across Africa, ringing sensors in Zambia, Kenya, and Ethiopia. They traversed vast oceans, humming across Chile, New Zealand, Canada, and even Hawaii nearly 11,000 miles away. These waves didn't just zip by; they rang for more than 20 minutes. And yet, it seems, no human felt them. Seismologists have said they've never seen anything like it. What's causing this disturbing ea

Build The Wall Or Not? Protect the Border or Open Borders?

On this episode of the Christopher Scott Talk Show Podcast: Should we build a wall or not? Should we protect the border or have open borders? A 7-year-old girl from Guatemala died of dehydration and shock after she was taken into Border Patrol custody last week for crossing from Mexico into the United States illegally with her father and a large group of migrants along a remote span of New Mexico desert. This is a very, very, sad story PERIOD. The basic question is do we have a right to protect our border. I don't know how you can say we don't but we can agree to disagree on that. I personally don't want open borders and I don't think the people that support that have thought through the con

Assault On Law Abiding Citizens

On this episode of the Christopher Scott Talk Show Podcast: What do you call a District Attorney that refuses to prosecute certain crimes? It’s not really a complicated question. The answer not complicated, and it's not a hypothetical question. The newly elected DA of Suffolk County MA, Rachel Rollins is saying she will not prosecute at least 15 different crimes. Meanwhile in New Jersey you can be fined up to $1,000 if you leave your car idling more than three minutes and it's now a felony to have a rifle magazine with a capacity of more than 10 rounds. Both are areas where liberals are in control. Why the hypocrisy? Why are criminals being given a pass and law abiding citizens are under att

Two Highlights from the President Bush funeral and events leading up to it.

There were 2 highlights from the President Bush funeral and events leading up to it that I think are worthy of talking about. One, was Senator Dole getting picked up from his wheel chair to salute Bushes coffin. I have to imagine this was a mortal moment for Dole realizing that his life is also nearing it's end. That this is the level of respect that men show. We stand and we show respect for the things that ought to be respected. I think that's a timeless character trait and what we see going on today with people kneeling and refusing to stand is not normal and not something to be respected. I think Bob Dole illustrated that respect. He had to be helped up because he can't even stand on his

Former president George H.W. Bush laid to rest in Texas

George Herbert Walker Bush was laid to rest Thursday beneath the rich soil of Texas, where he arrived 70 years ago as a young New Englander looking to make a new life and ended up rising to the pinnacle of American political power. After a formal funeral in Washington on Wednesday and a folksier one in Houston on Thursday, the 41st president’s body was taken by train to his presidential library in College Station, where he was buried on a cool and rainy afternoon. Texans turned out all along the 70-mile route as the train rolled through the towns of Spring, Pinehurst, Magnolia and Navasota, paying tribute to Bush, whose flag-draped casket was borne in a glass-sided train car pulled by Union

This Harvard professor says you should eat only 6 fries at once — and people are not here for it

A Harvard professor is coming under fire after suggesting that people should eat only six french fries at once. Eric Rimm, a professor of epidemiology and nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, made the comments in a New York Timesarticle about how unhealthy fries are. “There aren’t a lot of people who are sending back three-quarters of an order of french fries,” Rimm said. “I think it would be nice if your meal came with a side salad and six French fries.” He also lamented Americans’ love of the fried food: “It’s too bad in this country you’ll pry them from my cold dead hand.” People are having strong feelings on Twitter about his serving suggestion: Read the Full Artic

Christopher Scott Talk Show Podcast #387

President Trump clashes with Democrats Pelosi and Schumer on live TV over border wall funding. Trump threatens to shut down the government. Is this news or reality TV? Did you see the video of the President meeting with Pelosi and Shummer? Classic reality TV. That's exactly what that was. It's like I keep saying we've become the Jerry Springer Nation. The whole thing was drama laden and made for TV. I'll have to admit I got sucked in. I laugh at the people that say the president looked bad in that. I thought he put the smack down on Pelosi and Shumer who couldn't even look the president in the eye. He's weak and pathetic. I'll tell you right not someone that can't look someone in the eye isn

Is Harrisburg's Nightmare America's Future?

This is an interesting story about local government and how politics can destroy a town or a city. We talk about national pride, nationalism, making American great again, what good is any of that if the towns are being destroyed? The problems in Harrisburg have been blamed on too much debt. Debts largely attributed to failed projects that failed because of corruption. Debt and corruption. It will kill any city, state, country, society. It doesn't matter. Debt and corruption are killers. Let me tell you what happens that generally destroys cities and towns like this because the story is generally the same. The noticeable thing that happens is a drop in population. This is a huge killer on a f

Trump vs Bernie 2020: How Does Bernie Bring Back the Magic?

There’s a lot of people lining up to get into this. There’s a whole list of democrats that are lining up to get into the election. Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris. But what about Bernie? Flat Earth Theory Debunked: Ancient Observation That Proved The Earth Is Round

On this episode of the Christopher Scott Talk Show Podcast: Why is it necessary to have a conversation about whether or not the earth is flat? Because, there’s a growing movement of people that are convinced the earth is flat! I’m not making this up. It's called the flat earth theory. Is the flat earth theory real? It's a real theory. Isn't that a little crazy when you think about it? Crazy that there are people questing if the world is flat. Their called flat earth societies. Hasn't it been pretty well established for a long time that the earth was round? Isn't that was Columbus was proving when he sailed West and arrived in the East? Was Neil Armstrong pulling a fast one when he sent back
